The puppy has landed....

Okay, all together now.....awwwwwwww......
Meet the latest addition to The Bonkers House... Dante Alighieri (pretentious bunch, aren't we?) - or, commonly known as Dan the Man.

So, you wanted the pics - here they are.  Now you can let rip and tell me what a total and utter idiot I am!

He looks just like my former boss' dog . . . the howler ;) You're a much better mother than I could ever be Jane, just the thought makes my blood run cold. I wish you lots of luck - maybe two dogs will wear each other out?

Exmoorjane said...

The howler???? Stop it!! I still can't quite believe I've done this. Need a medal...
Yup, the wearing out is my (feeble) hope. We're hoping pup might teach Asbo a few manners. :)

Well no wonder you couldn't resist! Absolutely gorgeous. Honestly dogs can be a pain in the a**, they're messy, smelly, can be expensive (hope you have good insurance) - but there's nothing like walking a dog along a beach or coastline, playing with them in the garden, or coming home to an always wagging tail.

He's so beautiful!

Quite simply the most adorable creature alive!

Utterly gorgeous! What flavour is he? xx

Gorgeous boy, no wonder James is besotted, and you couldn't say no, I would have struggled too.

What does ASBO think of him? English Mum's comment about what flavour is he made me worry given ASBOs rep with chickens and small creatures!

You can be safe in the knowledge you are not the only one who has lost the plot - 6 chucks will be moving in as soon as I can get the garden ready for them, and the next scheme is miniature horses, although I haven't told the iGit yet!

My reasoning and justifying arguement? chicken and horse manure good for allotment and garden *smirks*

You get the Good Mummy Award for making your son very happy. Actually, I'm pretty happy admiring the photos... but that's close enough!
(Haha! Word verification is 'bakas' I supposed you need to be a bit baarking to get a new pup!)

Liz: good reminder - must get him put on the insurance (Asbo, as you might imagine - is insured to the hilt!).

Hanna: Ah, I know *sigh*

DJ: *big smile*

EM: he's a Jack Spaniel (yup, JTR mixed with Springer/Cav) *winces*

Zoe: aha, thought you might have fallen under the chicken spell... :)

Chris: barking doesn't come close!

Those eyes, those velvety ears! Who would not fall for such a face! Oh, those little puppy paws are also adorable.

Jane, just train little Dan to be a fabulous grown up Dan the Man dog and your family will have an absolute winner.

I still hope that old ASBO will be a good senior citizen!

xo

Frances: I know - I'm smitten, I confess. Hopefully we won't make the same mistakes this time round. And, to be fair to Asbo, we did have mayhem in the house when we had him as a pup (my mum's dogs staying etc)so hopefully things are calmer this time round!!! (famous last words!) xxx

He's totally gorgeous!

Dan the Man and Asbo Jack - are you sure it's not a Working Man's Club you've got running there ;-)

You're not an idiot, you're a lovely soul to do this for your son.

You will, of course, be left with the late night dog walk (plus all the wet weather ones) and the puppy-training.

But think of all that licky-wriggly puppy love you'll get in return ;-)

So cute, how is he getting on with Asbo?

fairyhedgehog said...

Oh, oh, oh! Adorable!

I'm not even a dog person. I've never owned a dog as an adult. But I don't think I could have resisted this one!

as long as he’s a diamond geezer down the old rub a dub I’m happy ;-))

Shayne Parkinson said...

Awwww! He is a gorgeous little thing. But it makes me tired just thinking about coping with him :-)

Exmoorjane said...

Major grinnage going on here:

Ali: oh yes the working man's dog club here for sure! But, yup, I'm smitten kitten for sure (even though I wanted a big older dog!).

Exmoorjane said...

Debbie: I know, I know - can't believe I've fallen in love with him!

Erica: what can I say? The cav bit is winning out so far!!

Exmoorjane said...

Fairy - there are a couple of pups left you know!!

ATJ: well, he coped with the match okay didn't he??!!

Shayne: I know. I AM totally shattered now!

footnote: pup now asleep in my boy's room....... :)

He is a bit cute isn't he...you know it is a slippery slope form now on in soon you'll have a pack!

Rob-bear said...

Yes, he is cute. And, yes, you're a wonderful mom for letting him into the Bonkers house. And, yes, you're going to make James responsible for him — a little responsibility never hurt anyone.

We'll get you a medal of some sort.

And, yes, Dan and ASBO Jack will destroy your house. The exact excuse you needed for remodelling. (Which is why your got him — you can admit it.)

Now that's pure evil! I have enough trouble looking after our cats!

Reasons said...

Ha ha!! He's dead cute though isn't he? How could anyone resist, he has the same'love me' eyes as the puss in boots cat in Shrek.

Have fun! xx

p.s. if it's any help I did exactly the same thing and never regreted it.

Ok.

"You are a complete and utter idiot"

But Dan is gorgeous!

I just want to fondle those ears. I can completely see how you were won over without intending to be.

Oh, just bless him, how cute is that little face?
Now - training, Jane - be firm and consistent and keep going over the same things every day and really he WILL be a good dog! Dogs will do anything for a tiny piece of cheese, I've found. Gruyere is particularly good.

Exmoorjane said...

Tattie - just don't! Still have yearning for a whippet and also for a big lardy old dog too.

Glummy: I know. So far, he's been really good. (famous last words)

Rob-Bear: a medal would be good. Noooo, can't bear the idea of having more work done on the house. but the utility room does need fixing up so he can do his worst in there for now!!

Fairy; sorry, sorry.... :)

Reasons: I knew he reminded me of someone!

Jon: *grin* Glad someone finally said it! :)

Naomi: those ears are pure silk...

Kitty: cheese eh? Hmm, I like cheese too. btw, had SUCH a good time at your blog - all looking deeply lovely. xx

He is absolutely gorgeous! My son asks for a dog occasionally, but the answer is always no. We have a cat, who sort of thinks she is a dog, and is my son's protector.
